Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 is Sofia Tkachuk from Rivne

On June 9, the new titleholder of Miss Universe Ukraine was officially announced. She will represent Ukraine at the international Miss Universe competition this year.
Given the ongoing full-scale war, the Miss Universe Ukraine Organizing Committee once again made the decision not to hold a national selection in the format of a public show. This is a deliberate step, driven by a deep understanding of the current context. At the same time, the Committee remains committed to participating in the global competition. We view the Miss Universe international platform as a powerful tool of public diplomacy — one that allows us to once again remind the global community about Ukraine, its struggle for freedom, and the unacceptability of russia’s full-scale invasion. All efforts and resources will be directed toward the thorough and high-quality preparation of our national delegate for the Miss Universe final, which will take place in November 2025 in Thailand.
“Women are one of Ukraine’s greatest treasures. Unbreakable, strong, and deeply noble — they carry the weight of the world, even in the darkest of times. Now, more than ever, we must be the voice of Ukraine on the global stage, and our participation in Miss Universe is not merely a celebration of beauty, but a tool of cultural diplomacy. It is a chance to affirm the dignity and unity of our people and to share the truth about our country through imagery, symbolism, speeches, creative concepts, and heartfelt personal messages. Each of these elements is part of the larger story of Ukraine that we carry into the world with honor, responsibility, and deep conviction,” said Anna Filimonova, President of Miss Universe Ukraine.
About this year’s selection process:
Starting in 2023, Miss Universe changed its eligibility rules: now, not only unmarried women but also married, divorced women, mothers, and even pregnant women may compete. This year’s group of semifinalists included women of diverse backgrounds and family statuses — seven of them are mothers. Additionally, beginning in 2024, all age limits for contestants were officially removed, marking a major step forward for inclusivity and reflecting today’s values.
The finalists were selected through a public vote with the support of the contest’s official partner, the well-known Finnish no-code platform Choicely. This technology is also used in voting for prestigious global events such as the Grammy Awards and the Eurovision Song Contest.
The five finalists were: Karina Zakharash, Sofia Tkachuk, Anna Fedorenko, Anastasiia Hrytsak, and Alisa-Maria Oleksiuk. Each of them went through personal interviews with the panel of respected experts and prominent figures, who ultimately selected the winner.
Final placements:
4th Runner-Up Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 — Alisa-Maria Oleksiuk
3rd Runner-Up Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 — Anna Fedorenko
2nd Runner-Up Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 — Karina Zakharash
1st Runner-Up Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 — Anastasiia Hrytsak
Special awards were presented to:
Woman of Resilience — honoring the contestant who demonstrated unwavering spirit, inner strength, and the ability to act in the face of adversity. The award went to semifinalist Oksana Chivy.
Woman of Influence — awarded to the contestant who inspired others through her words and actions and had a powerful personal impact. The award went to semifinalist Anastasiia Chaplyhina.
The Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 crown was awarded to Sofia Tkachuk, who will officially represent Ukraine on the international stage. The jury highlighted her as a charismatic, communicative individual with strong foreign language skills and intercultural experience — qualities that reinforce the diplomatic mission of the competition.
About Sofia Tkachuk:
Sofia Tkachuk, 25, was born in Rivne, Ukraine, but moved abroad with her family at the age of four. Despite pursuing her education and professional path outside of Ukraine, she has always maintained a strong connection to her homeland — both through daily actions and a deeply rooted civic identity. Sofia holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from EAE Business School (Barcelona) and is fluent in English and Spanish.
Her experience spans humanitarian and business fields. She has worked at the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), coordinated projects in collaboration with UNICEF, and contributed to the development of alternative pain relief methods for patients with severe illnesses. Currently, she is an entrepreneur focused on macroeconomics and investment strategies.
“When I was four, my family moved abroad. I grew up surrounded by different languages and cultures, but I’ve always known — my roots are in Ukraine, and my soul is Ukrainian. I’m a woman of action. I’ve worked for the UN, volunteered, and supported Ukrainians abroad — both before and after the full-scale invasion. I know what it means to leave your home, to find yourself in a foreign country, and start over. That’s why I work every day to help others on that same journey — emotionally, psychologically, and practically. For me, this isn’t just ‘help’ — it’s a duty and a calling. I build businesses, lead teams, and invest in ideas that truly matter and make a difference in people’s lives. And I listen — to people, to the world, to myself.
I believe beauty isn’t just appearance. It’s presence — a light we bring to those around us. My goal is to strengthen the Miss Universe Ukraine platform through my humanitarian experience and inspire women to find strength in their authenticity. My work with the UN and multicultural business projects has given me a global perspective and a deep understanding of human nature.
My Ukrainian roots have taught me resilience, empathy, and belief in the power of female strength.
I believe this combination will help me represent Ukraine with dignity and depth on the international stage,” shares Sofia Tkachuk, winner of Miss Universe Ukraine 2025 and official delegate for Miss Universe 2025.
The Miss Universe 2025 global final will be held in November 2025 in Thailand.
